Patent application documents undergo a three-tier review process—self-inspection by the patent attorney, mentor review, and quality control inspection by the dedicated QC department—ensuring high application quality and enhancing the grant rate while maintaining broad protection scope.

In terms of patent processes, our dedicated process team is responsible for document submissions, official notice forwarding, deadline monitoring, and fee payments, ensuring the entire process is secure, controlled, smooth, and delivers an excellent client experience.

Patent application in China

We have a dedicated international division staffed with over ten professionals, including international consultants, patent attorneys, and translators, all possessing extensive experience in handling foreign-related patent matters.

Our services include representing domestic enterprises in filing PCT international patent applications, entering the national phase of PCT applications in foreign countries and regions, filing direct patent applications in foreign countries and regions under the Paris Convention, and filing patent applications and registrations in the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions for enterprises from mainland China. We also represent overseas clients in filing patent applications in China.

We carefully select and closely collaborate with outstanding local law firms and patent attorneys abroad to safeguard our clients' patent interests.

PCT international application and overseas patent application

For clients requiring accelerated patent application examination and grant, we conduct feasibility assessments and provide strategic recommendations based on specific circumstances. We assign senior patent attorneys and process managers to expedite execution, ensuring higher standards in patent drafting, evidence preparation, application processing, and responding to office actions. This approach facilitates faster case resolution and increases the likelihood of approval.

Currently, we primarily collaborate with the China (Zhejiang) Intellectual Property Protection Center and the China (Hangzhou) Intellectual Property Protection Center for fast-track pre-examination of patent applications in fields such as new generation information technology, new energy, and high-end equipment. We also work with the Zhejiang Intellectual Property Research and Service Center for accelerated examination during the patent review stage.

Patent Reexamination

Our senior patent attorneys, patent litigators, and patent analysts work closely with clients’ R&D teams to develop design-around solutions for high-risk patents which are difficult to invalidate—especially in cases of alleged infringement. Through this collaborative process, we create new technical solutions that avoid the scope of the original patent rights while remaining technically and commercially viable.

Design-around Services

We assign highly experienced patent attorneys and litigators to represent clients in patent invalidation proceedings, achieving a significant rate of cases being fully or partially invalidated.

For clients’ key obstacle patents or high-risk patents, we provide strategic recommendations and responses. This includes analyzing whether the patent specifications comply with the requirements of the patent law, and conducting comprehensive searches to assess if the technical solutions meet the standards of novelty and inventiveness.

For invention patent applications that have not yet been granted, we represent clients in submitting "third-party observations" to the patent office to block the grant of relevant patents, which has yielded positive results.
